Summary

Two ruined cairns were examined in late 19th century. One possessed a small pit sunk in the calm and this contained wood charcoal. No trace of these cairns could be found in 1950.

Baring Gould, S., 1902, 8th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 164 (Article in Serial). SDV215645.

(1902) two ruined cairns excavated; one contained a small pit sunk in the subsoil, containing charcoal.

Two cairns in Teignhead newtake. (1901) Two ruined cairns were examined. One possessed a small pit sunk in the calm and this contained wood charcoal (Baring Gould).
(19/08/1950) No trace of these cairns could be found.

At approximately SX625845 are 2 ruined cairns in Teign Head Newtake, seen by R. Burnard. One contained a small pit with wood charcoal.
