Name: | RIDGE AND FURROW in the Parish of Lundy |
---|
Summary
An area od ridge and frurrow is visible on the ground and from air photos, lying on the north and east sides of the enclosure 108264. The ridges, aligned roughly east/west, vary in width from 2m to 4m; in some places they terminate in distinct lynchets and it is possible that the latter form headlands to the ploughed areas. In others, the ridges run into and beyond the lynchets, suggesting that they post-date the lynchets which may be part of an earlier field system in the area (nt).
