Earthwork bank and mound features of possible Roman to medieval date are visible on aerial photographs of 1989 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014, to the west of Brownings Farm. The earthworks comprise a linear northeast to southwest aligned bank, approximately 30m in length, with several shorter mound features up to 17m in length to the west. Whilst the nature of these earthworks is unclear, it seems most likely they represent the remains of industrial waste material and/or up-cast material derived from extraction within the plot. Large quantities of slag have been recorded within the field (MDV70541) and would appear to represent associated features.
