Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Plot is depicted on the late 19th century historic map.

Halstock Pound. Not precisely located. Small square enclosure often used at the pony drifts to establish Venville rights.

Worth, R. H., 1967, Worth's Dartmoor, 476 (Monograph). SDV337618.

Small enclosure considered by Worth to be the Medieval Halstock pound:
"Halstock Pound... a quadrilateral measuring about 90 feet by 60 feet; once situated on the border of the open common, but as it now stands, taken out of enclosed lands. Its antiquity may well be doubted."
