Summary
The english heritage survey of 2004 found a u-shaped cutting which constituted a major excavation into a steep slope & could be the remains of a working area. Two deep & wide water drainage channels extend from the end of the cutting southwards towards 'newton road'. A long narrow bank on the high ground above the cutting may be an embanked launder to possibly convey water to a waterwheel (eh).
