Full description

Boundary stone (B.S) marked at Arch Brook Bridge.
Jenkinson, T., 2004-2005, B3195 Newton Abbot to Shaldon (Report - Survey). SDV324041.
Site visit 25th November 2003. Boundary stone on north side of road at Arch Bridge. Inscribed 'Coombin Tinhead Stokein Tinhead'. The B3195 Newton Abbot to Shaldon is a narrow six mile route maintained at one time by the Newton Bushel Turnpike Trust. The road crosses a number of parish boundaries that are marked with boundstones placed c. 1822 as a result of the Turnpike Act of that year.

Site visit 13th August 2022. Boundary stone on the parapet on the north side of Arch Bridge. The stone dates to c.1822. A worn stone, the painted legend reads 'Stokein/Tinhead/Saint/Nicholas'. It also has a benchmark.
