Vis=livaton farmhouse including garden walls adjoining to north. Early or mid 16th century with major later c16 and c17 improvements. Refurbished in the early 19th century. Plastered cob on stone rubble footings. Cob and granite stacks. Thatch roof. Basically an e plan house. The main block faces north. It has a 4 room and through passage plan. Two service rooms on the right end. Early development of house difficult to ascertain probably an open hall house. The walls still retain sections of early 19th century plaster render which is incised as ashlar and includes fat stucco architraves to the windows and doorway. Main roof is hipped each end. Much of the interior is the result of the early 19th century modernization. Roof of main block appears to be completely smoke-blackened. Front garden is enclosed by a low granite rubble wall, probably early 19th century. See doe list for futher details (doe 1988).
