Higher Cockhill marked comprising a small group of buildings and associated enclosures with an orchard and well to the south-east.

Comparison with the 1880s-1890s map shows the addition of a large building to the north-east and a smaller building in the corner of the enclosure to the north.

Higher Cockhill shown Ordnance Survey 25 inch (1880s) map as group of small buildings around several irregular shaped yards with a well to the south-east and an orchard to the south. On the Tithe Map (1840) only a barn was present; adjoining field called Barn Close on the 1839 Apportionment (plot 949).
