The hut is contained within a small roughly rectangular enclosure. It has a diameter of 8 metres with walls up to 3 metres thick and 0.5 metres high. The entrance survives on the south-east of the circumference with two jambs in situ of 0.7 metres high. The opening is 1.2 metres wide. The wall remains consist of fairly robust earthen bank containing some, mostly displaced, stone.

Dartmoor National Park Authority, 2017, Site visits to Throwleigh Common (Personal Comment). SDV360253.

Site visited 4/07/2017 and plotted using GPS (SX65725 91085). Area was densely vegetated and highly overgrown with bracken. Hard to find the circle due to excess vegetation and grass growing over rocks. Difficult to gain access to centre of circle due to the vegetation so GPS reading taken from edge of circle.
