Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

'Toll House' is depicted on the Tithe Map.

Sheldon, L., 1933, Devon Toll-Houses, 305 (Article in Serial). SDV341560.

There is a toll-house at Whiddon Cross, south of the Exeter to Okehampton road (OS 1" 1809 shows a toll-gate at SX 69109227 near Whiddon Down; there is a Wheddon Cross at SS 924388).
