Full description
Buck, C., 2003, Bedford United Mines: Archaeological Assessment, 36,39, Fig 24 (Report - Assessment). SDV319828.
Site 3. Eighteenth century excavated stope and dressing floor platform surveyed in 2003. The grated stope is 10m deep and has a narrow opening 6m high and a rubble filled floor. To the south the projecting rock has been cut back to provide a flat working surface 8m x 5m. An exploratory adit is located to the south at SX43737261. The adit lobby is 2m long with an opening 1m high x 1.1m long and evidence of collapse.

Open stope cut into a rock outcrop. Proposed Bedford Mine Trail passes close to site, and will involve fencing of adit/workings and ‘walkway’ over infilled stope.
