Summary

Unnamed shaft cut into ‘philip’s lode’ open to a depth of 5m. A deep excavation has been carried out 2m to the west covering an area 12m x 6m. On the north side of a large spoil heap to the west is a collapsed adit opening 0.75m high x 1m wide at sx43727253 with a smaller opening 0.4m diameter to the east (buck).

Unnamed shaft cut into ‘philip’s lode’ open to a depth of 5m. A deep excavation has been carried out 2m to the west covering an area 12m x 6m. On the north side of a large spoil heap to the west is a collapsed adit opening 0.75m high x 1m wide at sx43727253 with a smaller opening 0.4m diameter to the east (buck).

No. 1 Shaft (Phillips Lode). This poorly fenced open shaft with side opening to west is adjacent to proposed new track route, and will require fencing. The collapsed adit opening will not be impacted by the proposed Bedford Mine Trail.
