The leat would have included a sluice at this location to direct water either to a flat rod water wheel, the reservoir pond above the water wheel or directly to the ‘river tamar’. The stone built arched tunnel under the railway can be seen through a small ground level opening 1m x 0.5m & the stonework of a portal is visible on the river bank (buck).
