Summary

Site of ‘western shaft’ cut into the southern side of the ‘main lode’ of ‘bedford united mine’. The shaft was not visible during the 2003 survey & the area of spoil heaps had been levelled over the site. The only surviving field evidence was a curving southern field boundary (buck).
