Summary

Site of a long building shown on the 1867 survey plan to the south of ‘marquis shaft’. The os (1884) map shows a smaller square building on the site with a tramline extending from the shaft. The 1884 map also shows a long narrow building to the south. The 2003 survey found the area had mostly been levelled with a modern farm building occupying the site. A 6m section of wall from the north side of the square building remains & is 1.5m high x 0.45m wide. A 5m section of the western gable wall is 1.9m high x 0.45m wide with evidence of a window opening (buck).
