The building shown on the 1867 survey plan & the os (1884) map seems to have functioned as bedford united mine ‘captain’s house’ &/or the mine’s ‘count house’. A pair of buildings shown to the south of the house may have been stabling or a stable & cottage. The house is currently occupied & shown as ‘west gulworthy farm’ (buck).
