Summary
Site of a shaft on rough ground with a spoil heap to the southwest on the ‘main lode’ which probably ventilated the underground workings. The shaft has been described as ‘unnamed shaft’ & ‘old shaft’. The survey in 2003 found the shaft located near the western track entrance to the quarry to the south. An earth & stone bank 1.5m high x 1m wide surrounds the shaft (buck).

Site of a shaft on rough ground with a spoil heap to the southwest on the ‘main lode’ which probably ventilated the underground workings. The shaft has been described as ‘unnamed shaft’ & ‘old shaft’. The survey in 2003 found the shaft located near the western track entrance to the quarry to the south. An earth & stone bank 1.5m high x 1m wide surrounds the shaft (buck).
