Summary

Site of ‘impham shaft’ & adit shown on the 1867 map on the south side of the leat. The survey in 2003 found the shaft cut into an rock outcrop. The horizontal opening is 1.8m high x 1m wide & extends south for 5m. The tunnel then turns to follow the lode line for 4m before the open shaft can be seen (buck).
