’new mill’ near ‘pixy week house’ in alswear may be the site of ‘pixyweek mill’ mentioned from 1795. The mill was also known as ‘pixhay mills’ & ‘pixeyweek mills’. The building has been converted to residential use & there was evidence of a dry leat running towards the mill in 1993 (bodman).
