Site of ‘smithy’ shown on 1880s historic map as a small rectangular building in a long narrow enclosure on the north side of the road. This is the only building shown on the map at this site.

Early 20th century historic map shows what appears to be a smaller building, no longer labelled as a smithy. By this tine the Brookfield estate of houses has been constructed at this location, changing the whole layout of the area.
