Full description

Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 22, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 80 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.

Platform within eastern edge of fir woodland (Tuckers Plants). Rectangular raised platform with banks on west, north and east sides. Overall size 8 metres east-west by at least 20 metres to south, after which feature disappears into vegetation. Cuts boundary bank of wooded area on east side. Probably military feature of World War Two or perhaps later date. There are a number of small rectangular pits/trenches to the north and west of this feature, which may be of recent date (i.e. Royal Marines). Lies on northeast facing slope.
