Full description
Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 9, Part 1; 36, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 123 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.
Quarry (probable gravel pit) within wood on south side of Lympstone Common. Not shown on Ordnance Survey 1891 1:10560 map (93SE), although there are gravel pits further to the west (see 126, 135) Area circa 100 metres by 100 metres, of variable depth, up to 10 metres. Trackway runs from north from northwest edge of pit, possible access track. 2.5 metres wide by up to 2.5 metres deep on east side, 1 metre deep on west side. Lies within open woodland.
