Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880s, Ordnance Survey, OS 25" (Cartographic). SDV848.

'Stone' shown on OS 25" (1880s & 1905) maps on the east side of the road against the northwest corner of the Methodist Chapel. Other details: Also on OS 25" (1905) map.

A granite Torquay Waterworks stone is located against the west side of the Old Chapel at the northern end fo Hennock village. The arch topped stone is 0.4m high x 0.25m wide x 0.2m deep with the inscription "T.W" & "M" & dated 1858. The water main planned in 2002 will cross the original 10" water main installed in the 1850s to the north at SX83018109.
