Exeter Archaeology, 2002, Archaeological Assessment of Tottiford to Newton Abbot Trunk Main, 8 (Report - Assessment). SDV281233.
Two fields were recorded on the Bovey Tracey Tithe Apportionment in the mid 19C as 'Lower Castle Down' & 'Castle Down Meadow' possibly signifying the site of earthworks at this location.
