Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880s, Ordnance Survey, OS 25" (Cartographic). SDV848.

'Union Inn' shown on OS 25" (1880s) map as a large square building on the east side of the road with a 'Smithy' adjoining to the north.


Exeter Archaeology, 2002, Archaeological Assessment of Tottiford to Newton Abbot Trunk Main, 12 (Report - Assessment). SDV281233.

The Union Inn ceased to operate c1900 but continued as a smithy. The inn had been kept by several generations of the Murrin family & in recent times it was a restaurant.
