Full description
Dyer, M. J. + Whiteaway, T. E., 2003, Archaeological Recording During Gas Main Replacement Works, Woodbury Lane, Axminster, Devon, 7, 11 (Report - Watching Brief). SDV320799.
A sub-oval pit, a truncated feature (possibly representing two adjacent sub-circular post holes), and a linear feature circa 2 metres wide were recorded in the southwest corner of the field. Artefacts recovered from these features included Prehistoric worked lithics and pottery, indicative of Neolithic or Bronze Age activity and possible settlement. Other details: Figures 2 and 4.
