Full description
Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 1999, Bowl Barrow 80m north west of Windmilland Cross (Schedule Document). SDV339659.
A bowl barrow on a high ridge beside Windmilland Cross, at SS46730398.
Survives as a circular flat-topped mound, 17.4 metres diameter, up to 0.7 metre high. Surrounding quarry ditch is preserved as a buried feature. There is a strong possibility that this barrow was reused as the base for a later windmill, which in turn gave its name to the nearby crossroads.
