Cropmark visible in 1990 as the northern part of a prehistoric ring ditch with a curving linear feature inside. The feature is located c12m to the north of the former 'Watery Lane'. A linear feature to the east was probably an old field boundary. A few prehistoric flints were recovered from the site. Other details: Survey & colour photo.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

Two linear ditched features were identified on aerial photographs of 1985 to 1990 as cropmarks to the north and west of Netherexe Barton. The linear features were aligned roughly north-west to south-east and were possibly former field boundaries potentially of later prehistoric to Roman date. Shorter lateral spurs can be seen at roughly 90 degrees to the long, curved ditches, possibly supporting the interpretation that the ditches were linked and formed a possibly coaxial field system.
No evidence of a curvilinear ring ditch was seen in this location.
