1. Site of St. Heligan's Chapel at South Hole, one of eleven anciently in the parish.
2. No indication of foundations on aerial photographs.
3. Site visit 26/10/1977. There is a grass covered east to west terrace at this location, partly rock cut, which breaks the natural steep slope of the hillside. It is reached by a narrow terraced pathway from the west. Its level surface would be suitable as a building platform for a small chapel. There are no visible remains of foundations or stones in the vicinity.

A charter in 1189 granted chapels at Harton, Cheristow and Welcombe to Hartland Abbey together with all the other chapels built in the parish. This probably included St. Heligan's Chapel which appears in a list of chapels licensed by Bishop Stafford in 1400.

Site of st Heligan's chapel at S. Hole. Site poss at terrace recorded 1977, 28m x 8.5 to 3.5m; breaks natural steep slope. Reached by terraced path from W. No evidence for remains. On TM site linked to 'Great Chapel' field (TA 1908).
