Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 54+fig 13,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Area of five mine spoil finger dumps removed from shafts or adits. Gard's Shaft (see PRN 3876) was the site of discovery of the Devon Great Consols Main Lode & was one of the main shafts from which this material was removed before workings progressed eastwards. The survey found the westerly spoil heap was 10m long x 5m wide & the four smaller eastern ones up to 0.7m high x 1m wide at their tops. Other details: Sites 29.
