Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 56+fig 13,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Reservoir shown on a 1867 map of Wheal Maria mine to the east of Wheal Maria Farm. It was fed by two leats from the east & the south. The outlet went underground to emerge upslope of Wheal Maria wheelpit & may also have provided water for the mine's dressing floors. The survey found a pond 25m x 20m with a low bank boundary & partially infilled on the eastern side. The eastern leat still supplied water to the pond. Other details: Sites 34.
