Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 59-60+fig 8,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Shaft shown on 1867 map of Devon Great Consols Mine at the west end of the 'New South Lode'. The shaft was found during survey to be close to an old forestry track at the eastern end of an area of Costean or lode back (see PRN 71306). The shaft which was marked by a central granite post was 3.8m diameter x 1.4m deep. Other details: Sites 42.
