Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880s, Ordnance Survey (Cartographic). SDV848.

Site of three small square ponds in a row aligned east to west to the south of Gard's Shaft at Wheal Maria. The eastern pond is the largest at c8m square.

Site of three small ponds shown on 19C maps which may have been settling tanks or provided a head of water for the buddles to the north. The survey found 4m square depressions 0.9m deep with earth bank boundaries but no apparent water supply. Other details: Sites 46.
