Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 71-72+ Fig 14,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Site of four square settling tanks shown on 19C maps found during the survey to have a southern retaining wall 2.5m high with lower walls on the north, east & west sides. A leat (see PRN 71318) runs along the south side of the tanks. To the north east from SX41957375 to SX41967373 are several long trenches 4-5m apart & up to 12m long cut into the slope & aligned north to south. The 1m wide x 1.5m deep trenches were interpreted as copper precipitation trenches. Other details: Sites 66 & 67.
