Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 93+ Figs 14,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Site of a house shown on 19C maps at the western end of the quarry (see PRN 51093) at Wheal Fanny mine. The building may have been two or three cottages occupied by masons working in the quarry. The walls of the main building were found during the survey to have been removed leaving a trench 0.5m wide x 0.3m deep. The walls of an outhouse survived up to 1.5m high with a newer L-shaped feature built from the house rubble but of unknown function. Other details: Site 108.
