Full description
Exeter Archaeology, 2004, Archaeological Assessment of Proposed Alterations to Pridhamsleigh, Staverton, 6 (Report - Assessment). SDV321670.
In the centre of the lower yard at Pridhamsleigh Manor was a large, roughly square-shaped dung pit of probable 1860s date. There was a drain at its north-west corner. Surrounding the dung pit on each side were wide cobbled hard-stands that sloped down towards the pit, with diagonal drains at the corners. The dung pit was infilled before the mid-20th century and is now capped in cement.
