Summary

Exeter Archaeology, 2004, Archaeological Assessment of Proposed Golf Course at Kigbeare Manor Farm, Southcott, Okehampton, 4, 8 (Report - Assessment). SDV321807.

The farmhouse lies at the northern end of the main rectangular courtyard, with a cottage and barn with horse engine house to the west, a possible barn and open-fronted building (much altered) to the south and a linhay to the east. There are additional buildings including a cottage around a small courtyard to the north of the house. Most of the buildings are potentially of 18th/19th century date. The farmhouse may occupy the site of the original manor house of the de Langfords, known to have been present in 1332.
