Full description
English Heritage, 1988, Offwell, LBS No 88786 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV322069.
Chest tomb approximately 1m east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Offwell. Late 18C - early 19C in memory of Samuel Dommet. Beerstone. The chest tomb sits on a chamfered plinth and has a plain flat lid. The sides contain rectangular panels with double beaded frames. The south-facing panel is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. It records the death of Samuel Dommet and his wife but a section has broken off and this included the name of Mrs Dommet and the years in which they died.
