Site of a group of buildings, circular features & a sub-triangular reservoir shown on OS 25" (1880s) map at 'Wheal Anna Maria (Copper & Arsenic)' mine.

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 135-7, Figs 7,9,16,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Site of Wheal Anna Maria 'lower' dressing floor shown on 19C maps & the complex was described in a mine survey of 1860. A railway line for the later arsenic works at Wheal Anna Maria had divided the site by the time of the OS (1884) map. The survey in 2002 found little remaining of the dressing floor & a large spoil heap of the 1920s arsenic production covered most of the site. Two twin buddle plinths were located at SX42647330 & SX42657329 & a possible water wheel pit 6m x 1.8m with an infilled interior was found at SX42657330. Other details: Sites 187,188,188/1,189.
