Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 156-7, Figs 26,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Site of an adit portal at South Wheal Fanny mine to the east of Engine Shaft (see PRN 51113). The survey in 2002 found the adit portal 40m long x 2m wide x 1.8m deep with a water pipe to the north. A possible shaft 4m x 3m not shown on the 19C maps was located to the northwest at SX42657289. A small mine building shown on the 1867 map at SX42647286 to the southwest of the adit was identified as a pile of rubble up to 5m long x 3m wide x 1.5m high. Other details: Sites 222, 223 & 224.
