Full description
Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 157, Figs 26,38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.
Site of a linear cutting shown on OS (1884) map at South Wheal Fanny mine from SX42617299 to SX42617290. It is unclear whether the feature is a leat, an incline tramway, a flat rod cutting or the site of a pipe to pump water up to the dressing floor. The feature is not shown on the 1867 maps. A small parallel feature from SX42667294 to SX42667289 was interpreted as a leat to South Fanny Shaft (see PRN 56103). The survey in 2002 found the main feature 1.5m wide x 0.75m deep with the leat to the east 0.5m wide x 0.5m deep between 0.3m wide banks. Other details: Sites 225,225/1.
