Site of a large group of buildings & the chimney at the 'Engine House' of Wheal Emma mine.

Site of the Incline Shaft winding or man-engine house at Wheal Emma mine where a whim steam engine was installed by 1860. The Incline Shaft (see PRN 3875) boiler house was located at SX43927369 with the chimney at SX43947369. The survey in 2002 found a section of granite cylinder bed stone 1.7m long x 0.7m wide, other granite blocks & the crank pit loadings at the site of the engine house. Two 7m long x 1m wide depressions were found at the site of the boiler house & a 1.5m diameter x 0.9m deep depression at the site of the chimney. Other details: Sites 303,303/1,304.
