Full description

Reichel, O. J., 1928 - 1938, The Hundred of Black Torrington in Early Times, 193,202,212,240 (Article in Monograph). SDV2105.

East Wonford was Wenforda in Domesday, it was part of the manor of Torintona. Held by the king. Before the conquest it was held by Harold.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1977 - 1979, SS30NE1 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV342498.

East Wonford on site of barton. Visited 10/11/1977. The house appears to be of 19th century date. No remains of earlier barton nor of reused materials in barns and outbuildings.
