Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 206 Figs 38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Adit portal shown on the 1867 map & labelled 'Sluice' on the OS (1884) map which may be related to Plunger Shaft (see PRN 3883) & returning water to the River Tamar. The survey in 2002 found the open adit fenced with water issuing from it. The ground above the portal had collapsed with the opening up to 1m wide x 2m high & timber setts at 1m intervals extending for 8m inside the adit. Other details: Site 323.
