Full description
Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 217-8 Fig 38 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.
The shaft is not shown on the archive maps although the adit at SX41677277 is labelled on the 1867 maps. A possible shaft with a building & spoil mound was found at SX41677277. The survey in 2002 found two of the features had collapsed with remnants of masonry walling 0.4m high at the building site & a spoil heap 6m long x 2m wide x 1.5m high to the southwest of the adit portal. Other details: Sites 347, 348 & 349.
