Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 220 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Site of two possible shafts located on the southern side of the gunnis (see PRN 71596). The survey in 2002 found one shaft with an opening 1.7m wide x 1.6m deep. A possible blocked adit with an opening 1.3m wide x 1.6m high was located 4m to the east of the shaft. A second blocked shaft 3m wide x 4m deep at the northern end of the openwork was cut through bedrock. Other details: Site 353.
