Full description

Buck, C., 2002, Devon Great Consols: Archaeological Assessment, 221 (Report - Assessment). SDV241758.

Shaft shown on the 1867 map to the north of Wheal Frementor mine but not shown on OS (1884) map. The survey in 2002 found the shaft amongst lode back pits running from SX42577260 to SX42537260. The shaft on a rocky outcrop was 2m long x 1m wide x 0.5m deep. The numerous lode back pits to the east & west of the shaft were c2m diameter x c1m deep with elliptical spoil heaps on their downslope sides. Other details: Sites 356 & 356/1.
