Full description

Best, J., 2004-5, Archaeological Discoveries (Report - Interim). SDV363600.

A pewter chamber pot found during tunnellling works in Saddlers Lane. Dating from the Civil War period it is a rare example of a pre-1700 English pewter chamber pot. It is suggested it may have been made in Exeter. The initials 'I. I.' are visible on the handle.

Best, J., 2005, Archaeological monitoring of the Ottery St Mary flood alleviation scheme, 5,7,14-15 Figs 2, 5, Pl. 1 (Report - Watching Brief). SDV322702.
