Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

'Quarry' shown on 19th century map in 'Hill Plantation' which is shown as an oval enclosure of conifers.

Hill Plantation Quarry appears on the 1844 Tithe Map. The 1889 may shows the quarry running across two field boundaries. The western half of the quarry has subsequently been filled in and grassed over as part of the adjoining farm land. The east side is still open and partly surrounded by a stone wall. Other details: No 1491.
