Full description

Two small adjacent quarry pits, circa 40 metres apart, cut into east hillslope on west side of trackway to northwest of Higher Quantock. Southern pit circa 15 metres east/west by circa 10 metres north/south by maximum 2 metres deep. Northern pit circa 12 metres east/west by circa 8 metres north/south by maximum 2 metres deep. There are no pits shown in this position on the Ordnance Survey 1890 1:10560 map (Sheet 59NW). The pits may relate to the extraction of sand, as there were sand pits to the northeast (see site 325).
